Adapting acoustics & buildings to tropical settings…

March 26, 2019

How can you deal with acoustic insulation in buildings when you are looking for naturally ventilated & open facades? How can you manage acoustic performance in rooms when natural ventilation travels through the building?

French legislators have taken this particular situation into consideration for all new living spaces. However, there are still no laws for Educational, Health, Hospitality and other types of buildings.

An acoustic consultancy firm can of course assist you in this situation. Many solutions exist, and even if some of them require a certain compromise, making the right choices will help differentiate your facilities, by harmonizing natural & acoustic ventilation.

Optimized implantation of facilities, usage of constructive acoustic & modulable systems, specific insulation of facade ventilation, are some possible options to enhance acoustic comfort for future users!

Here are some of our projects on the Reunion Island we’d like to share with you: La Possession Elementary School, construction of Roquefeuille Middle-School, extension and renovation of Roland Garros Airport in Saint Denis, construction of the future IUT ESIROI University in Saint-Pierre.

Delhom Acoustics will be glad to support you in the improvement of the acoustic environment in your building, whether it’s a complex process or not, especially if it’s located on a tropical island!
